Our School News Broadcast Students in grades four and five communicate important information about ELE and beyond through our daily school news broadcast. WELS begins with the pledge and is followed by a news story, an on this day in history segment, the lunch menu, the lost item of the day and the weather forecast. Our WELS anchors rewrite a current event appropriate for Kindergarten through 5th grade, our meteorologists gather their forecast information using weather.com, and our chef reporters use the lunch information from the ELE Mini News. Students share various announcements on an as needed basis. Students also have behind the scenes responsibilities such as working the camera, managing the cue cards and playing the music. Any interested student should discuss the possibility of joining the WELS news crew with their 4th or 5th grade homeroom teacher.
